One of our specialties is making what we call “Tiny Tweaks” to your blog. These can be anything from color changes on links to the addition of social media icons and/or sharing buttons or a host of other small changes. What’s great about this is that you can make small additions to your blog without parting with a chunk of change.
This week we’d like to feature one such tweak:
The Pinterest button!
For those of you not familiar with Pinterest, allow me to give you a brief introduction.
According to the website, Pinterest is a “place to catalog all the things you love.” Think of it as a giant idea board – driven by visual images – for ‘pinning’ all the items you find around the web that you love, want to make, or simply want to remember where to find.
For those of you who would like to learn more, here’s a great article on Pinterest
What has this got to do with your blog?
Excellent question! Simply this: you want readers to find your recipes, products, etc. and save them. You want them to pin them to their Pinterest boards because it increases the chances that your blog content will be seen by others in the Pinterest world. (And, trust me, it’s addictive. So much so, it’s set to replace Stumble Upon in my opinion.)
What about the Pin It button that they offer at Pinterest?
Many users do utilize the Pin It button – just like many copy and paste links into Twitter and Facebook to share – but you can give them a solution right inside your blog post. Which means that current Pinterest users will find you savvy and on top of the trends. Plus, you’ll be introducing non-Pinterest users to the latest craze – all while making it more user friendly.
We can install it for you!
Take a look at these examples of how we can add it to your blog:
- bell’alimento: located in single posts in the upper right hand sharing box
- Lauren’s Latest: located in single posts beneath each article
Want us to add it for you too? Contact us to get started.
Oh, and be sure check out my pin boards on Pinterest while you’re at it.
